Registration Process in Himachal Pradesh

This guide is still being prepared and has not been reviewed. It shows only the parts we can state with confidence. Check the official portal before relying on it.

Registering a property in Himachal Pradesh means recording the signed transfer document with the sub-registrar so that the transfer becomes part of the public record.

Steps

  1. Open HimBhoomi and view the Jamabandi or Shajra Nasb for the village, by district, tehsil and Hadbast number.
  2. Check the seller's name and holding in the Jamabandi.
  3. Search the project on HPRERA if you buy in a registered project.
  4. Prepare the sale deed and pay stamp duty and registration fee as the Sub-Registrar office directs.
  5. Register the deed at the Sub-Registrar office.
  6. Apply for mutation with the tehsil so the Jamabandi shows your name.
