Registration Process in Punjab
This guide is still being prepared and has not been reviewed. It shows only the parts we can state with confidence. Check the official portal before relying on it.
Registering a property in Punjab means recording the signed transfer document with the sub-registrar so that the transfer becomes part of the public record.
Steps
- Check the seller's title: view the Jamabandi on the Punjab Land Records portal by owner name, Khewat, Khasra or Khatouni number.
- Check the Intkal (mutation) record for the plot on the same portal.
- Confirm the Collector Rate and fee schedule on the Punjab Revenue Department website.
- Pay e-stamp and registration fee online through the links on the Punjab Revenue Department website.
- Book and attend registration at the Sub-Registrar office through the Easy Registry portal.
- After registration, apply for mutation (Intkal) so the Jamabandi shows your name.
