Revenue Court Cases in Karnataka
Revenue court cases in Karnataka are cases heard by the Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner and Tahsildar courts of the Revenue Department, including cases about RTC entries and inheritance (pouthi) cases. The Revenue Department tracks them in the Revenue Court Case Management System (RCCMS) at rccms.karnataka.gov.in, which records each case from filing to final order. Without logging in, you can search cases and daily orders after a security code, view judgements by district, court and date range, see cause lists, download notices and view pouthi cases. A case ID such as RP/6/2016 gives the case type, a running number and the year, and is unique only within one court. RCCMS is linked to Bhoomi, and signed orders are written into the RTC. On 19 October 2026 its public dashboard showed 60,880 pending cases. RCCMS does not cover civil courts, so also search eCourts (services.ecourts.gov.in) for civil suits.
Definition
Revenue Court Cases (RCCMS): Cases before the Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner and Tahsildar courts. RCCMS is the Revenue Department's web system for monitoring them from the first entry to the final order. The Bhoomi Monitoring Cell runs it, and NIC Karnataka built and hosts it.
When you need it
Before you buy agricultural or other revenue land, to see whether the survey number or the seller is part of a revenue dispute that could change the RTC or a mutation. Check it together with the RTC and eCourts, because RCCMS does not show civil suits.
Steps
- Open rccms.karnataka.gov.in/rccms and go to the Citizen Corner menu.
- For a known case, open Case Search / Daily Orders and enter the security code.
- For decided cases, open View Judgement, choose the district and court, and pick all dates or a date range.
- For hearings, open Cause List and choose the district and court.
- Check Pouthi Cases for inheritance cases and Download Notices for notices issued.
- Search eCourts (services.ecourts.gov.in) for civil suits by CNR number, case number or party name.
What you need to search
- District
- Court: Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner or Tahsildar
- Case ID (case type/running number/year) or online acknowledgement number
- Date range, for judgements
- The security code shown on the search page
How to read it
Read the case ID as case type, running number and year, and note the court, the parties and the stage: pending, posted for orders or disposed. Compare the date of a disposed order with the current RTC, because signed orders are written into Bhoomi. A case filed online may show only an acknowledgement number until the court gives it a case ID.
Red flags
- A pending revenue court case on the survey number
- A recent order that does not yet show on the RTC
- The seller is a respondent in a Deputy Commissioner or Assistant Commissioner appeal
- A pouthi case lists heirs who are not signing the sale deed
- No eCourts search for civil suits, because RCCMS does not cover them
Questions
- What is RCCMS?
- RCCMS (Revenue Court Case Management System) is the Karnataka Revenue Department's online system for cases in Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner and Tahsildar courts. It records each case from filing to final order. Citizens can view disputed survey numbers and judgements.
- What can I look up on RCCMS without logging in?
- The public menu offers Case Search and Daily Orders (after a security code), View Judgement by district, court and date range, Cause List by district and court, Download Notices, Posted for Orders, Pouthi Cases and state dashboards. Filing a case needs a login and Aadhaar e-KYC.
- How do I read an RCCMS case number?
- A case ID such as RP/6/2016 gives the case-type code, a running number and the year. The running number restarts every year for each case type, and the ID is unique only within one court. An online filing first gets a statewide acknowledgement number.
- Does RCCMS show civil court cases about my property?
- No. RCCMS covers only the Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner and Tahsildar courts. For civil suits in District and Taluka courts, use eCourts and search by CNR number, case number, party name or advocate name.
- Does RCCMS cover the Karnataka Appellate Tribunal or Land Tribunals?
- The RCCMS home page lists only Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner and Tahsildar courts. It does not list the Karnataka Appellate Tribunal or Land Tribunals, so do not treat an empty RCCMS search as covering them.
